Means your phone is locked to a network operator.

You can't unlock the bootloader. Emma is useless for you

Use PC Companion for whatever you're trying to do

Re: [Q] Emma device support

Yes it does. Provided the bootloader of the phone is unlocked.

I will merge this thread with the emma's thread.

Re: [Q] Emma device support

Then why does I receive "no available services matched the connected device". Btw in supported devices it says only 6603

Re: [Q] Emma device support

Hi again

Back with some confirmation.

It's for D6603 only and no other variant.

JFYI it's only the international versions ( Of each given phone) that are accepted by EMMA.

So if you're in need to get back to stock Sony software, you can use unofficial flashtool

If you don't know about it or need help with anything, feel free to ask me.

Also, if you're using unofficial flashtool, then do not post in this thread but here > http://talk.sonymobile.com/t5/Android-development/GUIDE-How-to-Install-Jelly-Bean-ICS-Ice-Cream-Sand...

Re: [Q] Emma device support

How does Emma decide which services are available for for a given device? I have an odd situation in which Emma detects, for an Xperia Z4 Tablet, a newer software version but only offers to service with an older version. (see the screen shot below)

Is there a way to the installation of a newer software version? How and when do the available Emma "services" get updated?

Re: [Q] Emma device support

Hi

Sorry for replying late, I was gone.

Future release dates for emma http://software.sonymobile.com/

Emma reads the CDF ( All the details of the device and Customization of the phone ) on a phone/ tablet and then shows the most recent global ( generic) version of firmware available for that model. Model of the phone/tablet alone is the deciding factor and only the latest generic version of the software is available to install . Emma gets to decide what to flash.

Now check this pic you posted.

original.png

Under the software, it shows the present software running your tablet. Notice the 1292-0698 ( CDF/ CDA number).

Now see under customiation ( that emma is gonna flash) the CDF number is different. It's not 1292-9698 but it's generic. 28.0.A.8.260 is not yet available in generic version.

Re: [Q] Emma device support

Thanks that was a big help. Is there an ETA for the a generic 28.0.A.8.260 version?
