I can not install Q Beta 3 on XZ3

Hello! My phone is included in the Q Beta testing program (H9436), but the installer says that the model is not supported! What am I doing wrong? I fulfill all the conditions written on the Sony website.

Re: I can not install Q Beta 3 on XZ3

These instructions worked for me (except there was never a checkbox for “My device cannot be detected or started”):

  1. Make sure you have Xperia Companion v2.5 or later installed on your computer. If not, download the latest Xperia Companion from here
  2. Start Xperia Companion
  3. Hold down the ALT key (on computer) and click on "Software Repair" on the home screen
  4. Tick the checkbox “My device cannot be detected or started”, then click “Next”
  5. Wait for the initialization to complete, then follow the instructions on the screen

I have the XZ3 H9436 too but after I installed the Android Q beta it now identifies my phone as H8416 for some odd reason.

Re: I can not install Q Beta 3 on XZ3

I fulfill these points. But when the phone restarts in preparation for the update, the computer writes an incompatibility error with the phone. "Android Q Developer not supported on this device". And offers to install the latest available firmware!

  • Go to Service info
  • Go to Software info
  • Note the Customization Version and Active Customization and share it with me.

I will check with the team if it is supposed to be part of the beta or not

Hi @artemstelmakh

I am sorry to say but that customization is not part of the beta.

Your feedback will be forwarded to the team to see if any clarification needs to be done.
