[Z5 Compact] Android 8 AOSP

Hi,

I can't find the binaries for 8.0 (nor 8.1) for Z5 compact, do you intend to release them anytime soon so we can build Oreo for that device?

Thanks

Re: [Z5 Compact] Android 8 AOSP

Hi,

the msm8994 SOC is not supported by 4.4 kernel, the latest Qcomm kernel that supported msm8994 was 3.10

Re: [Z5 Compact] Android 8 AOSP

Thanks for the answer.

I'm probably not enough knowledgeable enough on the subject, but what's preventing the usage of a 4.4 kernel?

Re: [Z5 Compact] Android 8 AOSP

Hi

Do you mind breaking that down a bit for the relative layperson please?  What is it about the Qualcomm chipset that doesn't support the later kernels, and is there any prospect of there being a workaround in the future? What things may cause a problem if one did a non standard upgrade?

Thx
