AOSP Built Images and Documentation and missing SDCARD Support

While I am still unable to get "eng" version of AOSP built images to boot up on my Xperia XA2 Ultra (I do have userdebug+OpenGapps running sans the SDCARD support), I noticed that build instructions for AOSP Oreo 8.1 is disconnected from the actuall output. For example:

1) Documentation states "recovery.img" - however, this image is nowhere to be found in my build. Am I missing something here?
2) The build ends up with "ramdisk.img" and "ramdisk-recovery.img" images, however, documentation states nothing regarding the use. What are these images for?
3) AOSP Oreo 8.1 (userdebug) version appears to be missing support for the SDCARD. While I am able to use the phone for the most part, the AOSP built Oreo 8.1 does not detect an SDCARD in my XA2 Ultra (I have tried several). Am I missing something?

Here's the script - slightly modified than the version I attached to my previous post - that I am using to build the AOSP Oreo 8.1:

#!/bin/bash
BRANCH="android-8.1.0_r26"
if [ ! -d "android" ]
then
        mkdir ~/android
        cd ~/android
        repo init -u https://android.googlesource.com/platform/manifest -b $BRANCH
        cd .repo
        git clone https://github.com/sonyxperiadev/local_manifests
        cd local_manifests
        git checkout $BRANCH
        cd ../..
else
        cd ~/android
fi

if [ -d "out" ]
then
        echo "$(date) Removing previous build..."
        rm -rf out
fi

echo "$(date) Repo Sync"
repo sync -j $(nproc) >/dev/null  2>&1
./repo_update.sh >/dev/null 2>&1

echo "$(date) Setting up Env"
source build/envsetup.sh && lunch aosp_h4213-userdebug >/dev/null 2>&1
# source build/envsetup.sh && lunch aosp_h4213-eng

export ANDROID_JACK_VM_ARGS="-Dfile.encoding=UTF-8 -XX:+TieredCompilation -Xmx15360m"
export JACK_SERVER_VM_ARGUMENTS="-Dfile.encoding=UTF-8 -XX:+TieredCompilation -Xmx15360m"

echo "$(date) Start Building Android O $BRANCH"
make -j$(nproc) >/dev/null 2>&1
echo "$(date) Done Building Android O $BRANCH"

Re: AOSP Built Images and Documentation and missing SDCARD Support

I have the same issue with the SDCARD support. It drives me nuts I have no idea why it shouldn't work.

For the sister device nile-pioneer the SDCARD-support is working.

It would be really great if someone of sony could put light on the issue.

there's nothing in dmesg stating any error thats not happening with pioneer.

Re: AOSP Built Images and Documentation and missing SDCARD Support

Hi! You wrote that you can install opengapps to AOSP build. Is there any magic? Or simple follow instruction about sideload?
