Re: Random Resets of Xperia Ray

Was rebooting a couple of times per day, some times 5 or more.

but over the last 48 hours not once (touch wood)

I have advance task killer activated, with start at startup enabled.

this way I get the little task killer icon in my status bar everytime the phone restarts and I miss it.

Re: Random Resets of Xperia Ray

you should uninstall the task killler... most probably its the cause of this reboot.

Re: Random Resets of Xperia Ray

Genuine reply below, it may seem sarcastic, but I'm trying to be logical and come to a solution.

Really?

considering

  1. advanced task killer runs fine on every other phone I've had.
  2. advanced task killer only runs at start up or if you run it, then kills itself.
  3. no one else has made mention of advanced task killer, yet they're having the same issue.
  4. I was having this issue before and after the installation of advance task killer.

are you saying that Advance task killer is rebooting the phone, or that the phone doesn't like advance taks killer and is rebooting itself due to it.

Re: Random Resets of Xperia Ray

only some users have faced rebooting issue in ray..

so did it reboot anytime after the 48 hours :smileyhappy: :smileysilly:

well i told you to remove task killer because it might be killing any service which may turning off the phone..

many many users got errors in various conditions..and when we asked them to remove the killer , the errors stopped..

so i just suggested you to remove it..

if the reboot issue has been solved then well and good :smileyhappy: dont even try uninstalling task killer because i dont want you to curse me or something :smileylaugh:

have you updated your phone..?

Re: Random Resets of Xperia Ray

nope still no reboots which is good, almost 3 days now

I upgraded to android 2.3.4, the day after I got it (this is my second handset, first one was smashed after one day :smileysad: but didnt reboot)

this phone was rebooting before and after the upgraded

I just saw mention of McAfee antivirus app in another thread

I dont know where this came from, whether its part of the standard install or a telco thing, but McAfee kept popping up asking me to install/update all the time

I got sick of clicking no all the time so removed it and that was about when things got better, not sure if this was the issue.though

May be worth a try for anyone still having the reboot issue?

Re: Random Resets of Xperia Ray

1 week, no Reboots,

99% sure it was that McAfee app now.

Thread seems to have gone quiet

Anyone else had any results?

Re: Random Resets of Xperia Ray

NO NO, task killer wasn't the issue for me,

Remove the Mcafee App.
