Physical azerty keyboard not working properly after ICS update

Updating my Mini Pro to ICS went smoothly today.

However, since the update,
my physical Azerty keyboard is working as a Qwerty,
and as far as I can see there is no option to correct that.

This is a real problem,
mainly because a lot of the symbols also have a different location on the qwerty keyboard.

This turned typing a simple message into a painful process.

How can I make sure my Mini Pro recognizes my azerty keyboard correctly, and not as qwerty?

I realized that another post about the same issue was posted here.

Re: Physical azerty keyboard not working properly after ICS update

I have an azerty and ICS and no issues here...

See my post at http://talk.sonymobile.com/message/210582#210582

How did you update to ICS? Via PC Companion/SE Update Service OR some other "unofficial" way? If the 2nd: you are sure you used Belgian AZERTY firmware instead of generic (or another regions) QWERTY firmware?

Did you alter your SI number in the past? If so, this might also trick PCC/SEUS to download and install the wrong (QWERTY) firmware?

Re: Physical azerty keyboard not working properly after ICS update

Johan,

I updated through PC companion (yesterday 07/06/2012),
didn't have to install anyhting.

My SI number is 1249-4820.

It was just like all previous updates,
except that I was asked to switch off the phone, hold down volume key, then plug it in, etc.

This wasn't required for previous updates.

(I also posted this reply in this post)

Re: Physical azerty keyboard not working properly after ICS update

Johan,

I update through update service as suggested by some in the same forun since update through PC companion was not working. It suggested me to turn off the phone and press and hold the volume down key and then plug the usb cable which started update process.

Mine has changed to Azerty when it is supposed to be Qwerty. Its a brand new phone which i got it yesterday and updated to ICS today.

My phones SI number is - 1251-0667.

Please let me know if this can be fixed or i will go get it replaced from sony showroom.

I live in Dubai by the way.

Re: Physical azerty keyboard not working properly after ICS update

A solution for this problem has now been found. Unfortunately you will need to send your phone into a repair center to have it downgraded to GB. When the phone comes back you update it to ICS via PCC or SUS and this problem will be solved. Phones that have not updated to ICS yet will not get this problem when updating. Contact your local support team for more info.
