wooly wooly, thanks so much!! Mate, so it worked.... Actually worked, I can't believe it. lol But umm along the way I got a little frustrated with my boyfriend's bickering I actually slapped my laptop and now every 1 or 1 1/2 hour, my laptop (vaio, a fan of sony but it can be crappy sometimes >< ) would make this weird noise where the hard drive should be and then just stop working and keep making that noise...... ya know it sounds like super old electric fans but umm my imagination's really bad huh? anyways it just stops working and i would have to restart it again...

create a new thread so other users can find the answer, there are 20pages in this thread hardly unlikely other users with the same question will be able to go through all of them

it seems that your PC has a lot of bloatware and you need to defragment your HD, also if the fan it's working so hard it wouldn't hurt to buy one of those air cans to clean it.
but anyway, use Update Service to repair your phone (it won't downgrade your phone) and remove both SD and SIM cards from it then repair it
please create a new thread for future questions
it's easy click on Xperia 2011 family -> Xperia Arc & Xperia Arc S
on the right side it should say

I (at least) would find it helpful if you would indicate which post, or who, you are responding to. Sometimes it's unclear just which posting you are actually answering.
Please let me thank you though for your considerable contributions to this thread.
P.S. I am a Rogers Xperia Arc and today just got updated to 4.0.2.A.0.42 via PC Connect. That skipped at least one version. tj
