Re: SE insult early 2011 Xperia customers

Oops! What I meant was, none of the other manufactures have given to upgrading their entire 2011 line up to ICS except SE. For instance, HTC is upgrading only the Evo 3D, Incredible S etc, while Samsung has announced ICS only for Galaxy S2 and the Note.

Re: SE insult early 2011 Xperia customers

@ Samuel, if I had the Arc S instead of the Arc, or the Neo V instead of the Play/Neo I would understand that since the Flagship is the Arc and it was released first and that MORE people have the Arc rather than the Arc S, it has priority (the Arc) it just common sense.

Regarding the 2.1 - 2.3 fiasco, yes Indeed SE could've handled this better, and there are a LOT of Xperia users, waiting, hopping, trying to believe on SE. whether its for a

1) update to 2.2 or further

or

2) fix the 2.3.3 update

or

3) make a recall on the "KNOWN" defective units, SE knows which batch of Xperias are defective.

All in all, SE is listening to our request, but we still need a serious commitment, enough of that lawyer talk "up to" instead of "at least" it's all semantics that will protect SE from lawsuits, but that's not the point, the point is what we, as customers, perceive. No one, wants to feel cheated, betrayed, etc.

Exactly! Spot on, mate!

Being a previous X10 Mini Pro user, I have personally experienced the 2.1 upgrade debacle. Hope SE really takes its users opinion in the right sense and do the needful!

Re: SE insult early 2011 Xperia customers

[quote]Samsung stated last week that they won’t officially be updating the Galaxy S and Galaxy Tab with Android OS 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, devices which have sold over 20 million units worldwide. Users immediately rebelled, caused an uproar as the main culprit was apparently TouchWIZ, lack of RAM and CPU. Today, overseas reports from Korea and Japan are stating that because of strong customer demand Samsung is looking for ways to bring ICS to their one time flagship devices.  HTC recently had a similar experience with the Desire – once informing users that the device wouldn’t be upgraded to Gingerbread because they didn’t want it “compromising the HTC Sense experience”. Owners revolted and HTC changed their mind and decided to “cut select apps from the release”.  Samsung might be going this route with TouchWiz, however they are no other details in the report, and Samsung has not confirmed that a potential ICS upgrade is coming.[end quote]

In the end, they all get the upgrade except Xperia X10, X8 ...
