SE insult early 2011 Xperia customers
"2011 Xperia™ smartphones will be upgraded to Android 4.0 starting from end March/early April 2012. The first smartphones to get the upgrade are Xperia™ arc S, Xperia™ neo V and Xperia™ ray. Soon after, starting from end April/early May, Xperia™ arc, Xperia™ PLAY, Xperia™ neo, Xperia™ mini and mini pro, Xperia™ pro, Xperia™ active as well as Sony Ericsson Live with Walkman™ will get their upgrades. "
in other words, Cutomers who bought their flagship Xperia Arc, or the other top of the line phones Xperia Play Xperia Neo won't get the update first, how does that make sense? the Arc S, Neo V and Ray were released later on 2011, it's not fair, its not right.
Xperia Arc S, Neo V, Ray will get it by the End of March Early April
the "REST" of the 2011 Xperia line up will get it LATE APRIL EARLY MAY?
Why is this a huge issue? yes we will get the update BUT, we can see the shift of focus to those 3 phones, so if there are bugs on the ICS update to the "REST" of the Xperias we will have to wait longer, thats an example/reason on why this is a huge problem

Issues to be solve ASAP
After few software updates, Sony Ericsson added "new features" BUT they haven't fixed others
1) ambient light sensor
2) Decent Battery life
3) Housing Crack
4) Launcher stops responding when you open many apps or heavy apps like Maps, and some games
5) OVER COMPRESSED PICTURES UGH, THIS REALLY BOTHERS ME, THEY ADDED FEATURES TO THE CAMERA BUT FAILED TO FIX THIS ISSUE
but Sony provides the same sensor to the icrap and they take full advantage of it and take amazing pictures and videos
6) wifi connectivity issues
7) 3G/H connectivity issues
8) fb updates on the phonebook (I use it sometimes, I want to have the option)

Wow!....there's alots of us out there anticipating and waiting patiently for ICS.....but this news, seem as if though they're saying, lets work on attracting new customer to our product and, we'll worry about old customer later...

it seems like X10, X10 mini/pro, X8, W8 all over again.
At least they were a bit more careful
I remember when they released the X10 the 2.1 update was supposed to available soon after, which it wasnt, then they said that the 2.1 update was going to include Multitouch, which it didn't, they also said that the X10 had camera flash, which it doesn't and that the problem was an android 1.6 limitation but then the way overdue android 2.1 was released to disappoint us all, missing all those promises. after people complainig all over, SE finally announced 2.3.3 for the X10 during the WMC, but its full of bugs and major issues.
the other Xperias weren't and wont be update, and they give us really dumb excuses, not a single valid reason as to why they won't update the phones.
Now it's all over again, their 2011 flagship phone WON'T get the update first, nor the Play nor Neo. Who does that? how make this desicions? how can they sleep at night knowing that they are on red numbers and they are disappointed users and scaring away potential buyers. Lets face it, who wants to buy any electronic appliance knowing that it won't get decent support, there is not a real commitment from the company to say we WILL support the device for "AT LEAST" 2 years, no instead they say we will update to newer versions of android if they improve the user experience, and they update phones "UP TO" 2 years, so that means that SE can support the phone from 1 day to 2 years.

I understand that they are a bit more recent, but its not fair. you know it, they know it, I like how Sony Ericsson come up w/ %&%&% excuses, like before we knew we could use the "i" firmware on the "a" Xperias, they used to say that it couldn't be done and bla bla bla, which is a lie, or how about this

Xperia Arc has in fact more buyers than the Arc S and there are many people who are rather going for their flagship model Arc than its later update S. Given this scenario, Xperia Arc remains their flagship model which drove them to produce the Arc S and thus should not be overlooked by Sony. Xperia Arc users should be a part of the first ICS update by default and not by raising an issue on the community forums.

Exactly, the Arc is the 2011 flagship, and there are fewer people willing to get the Arc S, since the only difference aside the price is the processors 1GHz v 1.4GHz
