Micro SD card: Maximum Supported Read/Write Speed Rating?

I want to purchase a 64GB Micro SDXC card for my new Sony Xperia Z1 Compact and would like to get the fastest card (read/write speed) compatible with (i.e. useable by) the phone, but I do not want to waste money buying a card that has a faster read/write speed than the maximum speeds supported by the phone. What is the maximum read/write speed of the Xperia Z1 Compact for micro SDXC cards and what would you recommend?

Re: Micro SD card: Maximum Supported Read/Write Speed Rating?

I use A1 SD Bench to test 2 Sandisk microSDXC card, the test speed:

64G Ultra: R 43.14MB/s, W 10.13MB/s

64GB Extreme: R: 43.20MB/s, W: 34.72MB/s

At least, Z1c should support 40MB/s R/W.

I am not sure if it support faster card well.

Yes,go for Sandisk.Xperia Z1 compact should have no problems with any speed class.Take a look here:

Re: Micro SD card: Maximum Supported Read/Write Speed Rating?

Sandisk Ultra serial cards is not faster.

The new 128GB card is only larger.

The faster card of Sandisk should be Extreme Plus

http://www.sandisk.com/products/memory-cards/microsd/extremeplus-uhs-i/?capacity=64GB

It may reach 80MB/s read and 50MB/s write in spec.

But I can not get one to test.

Re: Micro SD card: Maximum Supported Read/Write Speed Rating?

Thank you both for your helpful replies, but my question is not really whether the highest speed 64GB micro SD cards are compatible or will work, because I know they will all work OK. My problem is that I don't want to waste my money buying a card which has faster write and read speeds than the maximum speed which the Sony Xperia Z1 Compact can write to or read from, but I don't want to buy a 64GB micro SD card which has slower maximum write or read speeds than the Sony, as I want the card to work at the fastest possible speed at which the Sony phone can write to it and read from it. I cannot find any information in the Sony Xperia Z1 Compact specification, user guide or white paper or from a phone call this morning to Sony Technical Support, who just said any Class 10 micro SD 64GB SDXC card will work (which of course I already knew anyway!) I get the impression that Sony themselves have no idea how fast the phone can write to or read from a 64GB micro SD card!

Be careful though that you might encounter some compatibility issues between some cards and xperias. The best peformance until now is given by sandisk or sony micro sd cards.

Re: Micro SD card: Maximum Supported Read/Write Speed Rating?

I think the limits of Xperia Z1 Compact card reader may be 40MB/s R/W.

Because the Sandisk 64GB Extreme microSDXC card may reach 89.41MB/s Read and 58.51MB/s Write in some testing.

Re: Micro SD card: Maximum Supported Read/Write Speed Rating?

I just got 39.96MB/s Read and 31.85MB/s Write with a 32GB SanDisk Extreme Plus.

It's OK but I was hoping for faster writes.

Re: Micro SD card: Maximum Supported Read/Write Speed Rating?

It looks that Sandisk Extreme card is good enough for Z1 Compact.

Extreme Plus doesn't work better.
