Xperia TL Crash/Bricked?

Have been using my Xperia TL for about a month and last night it was working fine; no issues.  Went to bed and it was probably >80% charged.  In the morning the phone was off completely and red light blinking.  Thinking it had simply run out of battery (which seemed odd since it was mostly charged a few hours before), I plugged in the charger and the screen to flash SONY like it was starting then a white triangle with the setup icon and a blue bar beneath it.

Cannot connect to PC Companion as USB does not recognize device.   Cannot charge - it has been plugged in all day and can't get past this screen.  Reset by holding power+up vol for 3 sec and 10 sec and result is always the same.  SONY logo then white triangle logo.

Have not found this online anywhere.  Tried restarting without SD card and SIM.  Have plugged and unplugged phone multiple times from USB to PC.  Had it connect to PC for a few seconds at one point while plugged in, but not since.

Tomorrow is Christmas Eve so likely not getting much help from AT&T store or Best Buy so anyone see this or have other suggestions?  Looks really dead.

Re: Xperia TL Crash/Bricked?

this is what you do

1st try to buy insurance on this phone (at&t) it's about $7 a month and it cover water damage, theft, even if you drop it, it will cover it.

2nd connect your phone to the wall charger > press and hold power & volume up for 10 seconds > let it charge for an hour

3rd once it's done charging on your PC > uninstall PCC > reinstall it > restart your PC > disable your antivirus and firewall

4th connect your TL to your computer (make sure your phone it's off) while pressing the volume down key your PC should start downloading the drivers

Re: Xperia TL Crash/Bricked?

I had tried to reset phone (power+vol up) then let charge for >1hr.  Connect to USB on PC but cannot turn off and cannot connect even if I press vol down.  Stuck at screen with "setup" icon and no response.  I tried for hours to get TL to connect to PC pressing all buttons and combinations and no luck yet.

Re: Xperia TL Crash/Bricked?

use SUS instead

run SUS > connect your phone to your PC > press and hold the power & volume up until the phone is off > soon after press and hold volume down (release power & volume up) and keep holding the volume down key

Re: Xperia TL Crash/Bricked?

I tried SUS and PC companion 2.1.  Neither worked because issue was with connecting to the PC.  Tried the power+vol up to shut off then pressed vol down.  Got it to connect (briefly) once and I was able to turn on the handset and it began to start normally.  However after being on for less than 60s it rebooted by itself and I was back to the same setup icon error.  Tried many more times, then went back to BestBuy but they did not have any better ideas.  Also, none of the stores here had any TL's in stock.  So I was stuck with trying to work out an exchange with AT&T (which I could not get hold of) or swapping the phone; went with an HTC One X instead and had to say goodbye to Sony.

Thanks anyway.  I haven't seen anyone else with this issue yet, but this TL was dead. 007 would not have been happy...
