I have asked many times through this forum and the local support Sonymobile indicate me about my LT28i Xperia Ion international version presents problems as indicated in the following articles.
Neither this forum nor the local support contacted by e-mail me answers to a problem that clearly is software, I'm tired of waiting, he hoped that the support team will give me a real answer (other than waiting without horizon time) on updates or with great sadness I'll get rid of my Sony ecosystem (TV, BluRay, PS3, PSP, Vaio T series, sound system Wall series, Tablet S and Xperia Phone) and change it to a company that at least answer my concerns.
It is possible that Sony cares little that a loyal customer and I decide to leave the brand when you have so many millions of customers around the world but at least they should worry a little as I can be many people for lack of answers completely abandon brand and you know that: 1 advertises the brand loyal customer with at least 4 other people, but an unhappy customer does with minimum 20 people. This is not me but marketing specialists.
Sincerely hope some real answer about the drawbacks I said in my posts, at least they will not answer the phone update to know what to expect
P.S. Please, "Keep an eye on the product blog" is not an answer.

Just today I receive local support response from Sony telling me that I contact these forums to soporteo with sonyMobile hotline in the U.S., and in this forum I have not received any answer.
This totally and completely disappointed Sony and today I sold my phone and I have all my items for sale from Sony I'm sure that in less than one week I can sell them and I'll come to a company like Samsung that the few times that I needed support if I have provided.
As I said in a previous post, Sony may not care to lose a customer when you have thousands more in the world, but can esatr sure as far as possible I and my family back to purchase a Sony product, not its quality, but for its bad or no support.

let me understand the issue is that it over heats when you run an specific app? or is it that the update hasn't being released, if it's the later, after it's approved by PTCRB it has to be approved in each region/country and/or network before it can be released.
if it's the over heating from an specific app, it might be a compatibility issue at the moment, and that will be up to the developer (of that app) to fix that.
but it'll be easier to see what's going on if you have some facts, how to get them?
charge your phone 100% use it as you normally would, you can skype once it reaches 10% go to settings > about phone > battery use > take screenshots of the whole list and the graph, tap on each item and take screenshots of all the info or copy all the info and post it all here. also once you think it's really hot go to service menu and check the temperature, if the phone gets too hot it will shut down on it's own.

Thank you very much for your reply, has shown a kindness so far not received the Sony support group.
Right now the issue has lost interest to me, because they did not get any response I sold my phone LT28i Sony Xperia Ion (I will deliver tomorrow) and I have deals for TV, Bluray, PS3, Wall Sound System, and laptop, and close the sale in a few days.
Again thank you very much to you, but unfortunately for me, the support has come too late.
Now what remains is the long and sometimes arid task to make the best buying decision which is not always easy, especially when it comes to phones, I was a loyal customer of Nokia for many years and just for poor support, I I switched to Sony and exactly for the same reason I am changing my digital ecosystem, to Samsung.
I just hope I do not have exactly the same problem with Samsung and finally conclude that none has good support to their customers.
P.S. Remember, I live in Colombia, may technical support in Japan or USA is good, but I do not live in Japan or USA.

Sorry to hear this and that we haven't reached you fast enough. I have been looking into the overheating problems that's being mentioned here on the forum and I thank you for bringing us your feedback. Unfortunately I can't answer all our users in time because this forum has a lot of posters and my main purpose here is to check for current problems and to make sure that they are acknowledged by concerned team within the company. So even if you don't get any answer from me doesn't mean that I'm not ware of issues.
If you need fast answers you should always call your local support team. The main purpose of this forum is for users to share their experiences and of course to help each other. I do also of course try to help our users as much as I can.
I'm sorry to hear that we've lost you as a customer but I hope that you will get a phone that satisfies your needs and perhaps that you will come back to us in the future.

Felt your frustration and anger as well with Sony. My Ion is now up for sale after long fight with carrier who made up where Sony so miserabely failed. Lost the money paid for Ion and got a Samsung S3 (Icecream Sandwich, faster, better eveything and great battery life). Their abject failure creating phones and using deceptive marketing made me abandon Sony branded products. The Ion is a joke considering the S3 was release 2 months earlier. No word at all for ICS on LT28i to-date. S3 had minor update that enhanced performance and Jellybean coming soon. This experience and the X10 have left such a bad taste that I will never buy Sony again, nor recommend them.
