If the Market isn't working for some odd reason then
go to settings -> applications -> unknown sources (make sure is selected)
now this is a bit tedious but
on your X10 download the apk from this site -> once you have the file pull down the notification bar -> tap on the downloded file -> install it
or you can open your app drawer and then tap on Downloads -> tap on the downloaded file -> install it
then just follow the steps on how to install the backup & restore
also go to
settings -> applications -> manage applications -> Market -> clear everything and try again to download something from the market

Other options to Backup & Restore (for future reference)
just to play it safe sync your contacts w/ google if you haven't already
open your phonebook
if you don't want to use the backup & restore app then
Install "backup SMS" to back up your SMS and MMS to your Gmail
or your SMS use
"backup & restore SMS"
or for your MMS use "Save MMS"
And for call logs this is great
Don't worry so much about backing up your apps
on your computer go to
market.android.com -> log in -> click on My Library -> and send all your apps to your phone
(make sure you check on the market beforehand it should look similar to the pictures bellow)

I've tried the Megaupload link, but it's saying the link clicked is not available when I've tried to access it from my phone. It works fine on pc, though. I've tried with both checked and unchecked in apps....umm...Am I missing something here?
