Hi, I've got an old j105a phone from which I urgently need to print a number of text messages. It's important they retain the original dates, times and sender details, as they will be used as evidence of my relationship with my fiance for immigration purposes. Can anybody tell em how I would go about this?

Download and install PC Companion (if you haven't already).
With this program you will be able to sync text messaged to your PC and you will also be able to print them.
Connect the phone in Phone Mode and then click on SMS -> Send/Receive.
Right-click on the message you want to print and simply click on Print.

The printed page should look like this, complete with sender, date and message text displayed.
I used a W995 when I did this and I printed a message sent from the operator Telenor. If the contact is not stored you will get a phone number displayed instead. This one's in Swedish but I think you'll get it.
