Hi I would like to do a hard reset on my xperia u but don't know how, is it the same with settings->privacy->factory reset?
My problem is that i have a purple spot in the camera whenever I take pictures, I would like to see first if a hard reset can solve the purple spot problem before giving it to the service center, since they said it will take them 2-3 weeks before they can give the phone back.
I also would like to verify if an update can really fix the Purple Spot Problem? I've read in the forums some users were able to solve the problem by doing so, but since I cannot update my phone at the moment (maybe because sony took down the updates due to bugs) I am willing to wait for the future updates if it can solve the purple spot problem. btw my build number is 6.0.B.1.564. st25i

Hi regin0.. The purple spot you are experiencing is actually a.hardware problem, so a reset would be e unlikely to solve it.. So I suggest to take your phone to the Sony service center.

thanks for the suggestion,
but based on this thread they were able to fix it by software update.
I would like to try it first before giving it to the service center, I dont trust them much really.
and do you know how to hard reset?

Hmmm ,I see , when you perform a repair using the update service it will.automatically reset your phone. I think a hard reset is the same with the factory data reset on your settings. Privacy settings/factory data reset
