Here is the information I have been provided regarding this:
"The XperiaTM X10 mini, X10 mini pro and X8 all have less RAM memory than XperiaTM X10. By this we can't guarantee a good user experience. The upgrade of XperiaTM X10 also was made possible due to that we had a code base that mostly could be reused. For the mini's, who have a different user interface, this possibility did not exist."
There was also another statement made online which I'm currently unable to locate however the above information is what was stated on the matter.

I did try the "cook" you suplied in your responce, unfortunatly I can't say the results were satisfactoury, the performance and the problems I had were realy disapointing.
thank you any way, I just wanted to make sure that what I understood basicly (no 2.3 for minis') has not changed.

Uli..........What do you mean dead....Dead as in whups no 2.3.3 available even though the PCC upgraded the software from 2.1 to 2.3 ?.....Sony Ericsson X10i no longer supported ?........Software too much for it ?..........Do i need a new phone ?

the Xperia X8, W8, X10 mini, X10 mini pro are dead and will stay with android 2.1, the X10 was the only one to be updated to 2.3.3
